Use Mimicly in ChatGPT and Claude

Mimicly has a connector for ChatGPT and Claude. You describe the chat you want, for example an iMessage chat where a friend reminds you about pizza night, and the assistant sends back a watermarked preview with a link that opens the scene in the Mimicly editor.

You finish it there or in the iPhone app, then export or record it like any other Mimicly scene. The usual Free and Pro rules apply once it is in the editor.

What you can ask for

  • Chats in 29 messaging and AI chat templates, including WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, Discord, Slack, ChatGPT and Claude.
  • Up to 30 messages per scene, with names, times, a title and a light or dark look.
  • If you are not sure which template fits, ask the assistant to list them.

Connect it to Claude

  1. 1In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and click Add custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan an Owner adds it under Organization settings, then Connectors, Add, Custom.
  2. 2Enter https://mimicly.net/mcp as the server URL. Mimicly needs no sign-in, so leave the OAuth fields empty.
  3. 3Click Add. In a chat, open the + menu, choose Connectors and turn Mimicly on.
  4. 4Ask for a chat, for example: "Make a WhatsApp chat between me and Sam planning a picnic, six messages."

Custom connectors work on every Claude plan. The Free plan allows one.

Connect it to ChatGPT

  1. 1In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. Whether you see this depends on your plan and workspace settings.
  2. 2Open the plugins page, press +, and give the connection a name, for example Mimicly, and a one line description.
  3. 3Under Connection choose Public endpoint and enter https://mimicly.net/mcp. There is no sign-in to set up.
  4. 4Create the connection, check that list_templates and create_chat_mockup are listed, then start a new chat and ask for a mockup.

What Mimicly keeps

  • Mimicly does not save the conversation you send. It is packed into the preview and editor links, which stop working after 30 days.
  • You do not need a Mimicly account to make a preview. Anyone you give a link to can see that preview until it expires.
  • Nothing is posted anywhere and nothing is sent to other people. The assistant only shows the result to you.

What it will not make

  • Chats that ask for passwords, login or verification codes, card or bank details, gift card codes or crypto.
  • Chats that present themselves as coming from a bank, a government office, a delivery company or a support team.
  • Links inside messages. You can add those yourself in the editor.

Scenes are for stories, videos, lessons, design work and demos. They are drafts you finish in Mimicly, not records of real conversations.

Finish on iPhone

The editor link works in any browser. If you want to record the chat as a video on your phone, the Mimicly app opens the same templates.
