What is a chat mockup?
A chat mockup is a conversation you write and design yourself. Use it for a storyboard, a lesson, a content preview or a text story. Mimicly lets you edit both sides of the conversation, including names, photos, messages and timestamps.
Can I make a chat video as well as a screenshot?
Yes. Messaging and AI conversation templates support MP4 recording. Every active template supports image export. So do the Twitch and YouTube live chat templates. Other game chats, posts, comments, stories and email templates export images only. On the web, recording works in desktop Chrome or Edge; on a phone, record in the iPhone app.
What do I get for free?

Does Mimicly connect to my messaging or AI accounts?
No. The conversations are fictional scenes you create in the editor. Mimicly does not read messaging accounts or send messages. In AI templates, you write the prompt and the reply yourself. No external AI subscription or API key is required.
Can I use Mimicly on my iPhone?
Yes. Use the web editor in your browser or download the native iPhone app from the App Store. The iPhone interface supports English, Turkish, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, German and Swiss German.
