Terms of Service

This is a plain-language summary, not individualized legal advice. Consult a lawyer for your situation.

Welcome to Mimicly (mimicly.net). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Mimicly (“Mimicly”, “we”, “us”), a service operated from Türkiye. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Mimicly is

Mimicly is a web tool that lets you design mockup screenshots that resemble the look of popular messaging and social apps (such as iMessage, WhatsApp, and Instagram) for educational, illustrative, and demonstration purposes. You create the content; we provide the templates and editor.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Mimicly. When you register, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Provide accurate information, and keep your contact email current so we can reach you.

3. Acceptable use

Mimicly is a creative tool. You may not use it for:

• Impersonating a real person in a way intended to defame, harass, or deceive the viewer about their real conduct.
• Producing deceptive content for fraud, phishing, extortion, or any other unlawful scheme.
• Creating content that sexualizes minors, incites violence, or promotes illegal activity.
• Scraping, reverse-engineering, or abusing the service in ways that burden our infrastructure.

Mockups clearly used as satire, parody, fiction, teaching material, or product demos are welcome. When in doubt, label the image as a mockup.

4. Trademarks and third-party brands

The templates in Mimicly mimic the visual style of third-party apps. Names like iMessage, WhatsApp, and Instagram are trademarks of their respective owners, and Mimicly is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them. The creative output is your user-generated content: you are responsible for how you use it and for respecting trademark, right of publicity, and defamation laws in your jurisdiction. We may remove templates at any time if a rights holder objects.

5. Your content and exports

You retain full ownership of the images and content you create with Mimicly. We do not claim any copyright in your exports. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate the service (for example, to show thumbnails in your own dashboard).

6. Subscriptions, pricing, and billing

Mimicly offers a Free tier and a Pro tier. Pro is available as:

• Monthly — $6 per month, billed automatically each month until you cancel.
• Lifetime — a one-time payment of $15 granting Pro access for the operational lifetime of the service under your account.

Payments on mimicly.net are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record for your purchase. Purchases made inside the Mimicly iOS or Android app are processed by Apple or Google under the terms of the relevant store. By subscribing, you authorize the payment processor and Mimicly to charge your payment method on the stated schedule. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically; you can cancel at any time from your account page (web) or the App Store / Play Store subscription manager (mobile), and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep Pro access until that period ends. A small number of customers who subscribed before April 2026 are still billed by Stripe; their existing subscriptions continue until they cancel or expire.

“Lifetime” means the working lifetime of the Mimicly service as we operate it. It is not a perpetual guarantee of availability: if we discontinue the service entirely, lifetime access ends with it. We will give reasonable advance notice before any shutdown.

Prices are in US dollars and do not include applicable taxes, which may be added at checkout. We may change pricing for future billing periods with notice; lifetime purchases already made are not affected.

7. Refunds

Our refund terms are described in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

8. Service availability and changes

We work hard to keep Mimicly available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may add, change, or remove features, templates, or export options. If a change materially reduces what a paying user receives, we will provide notice and, where appropriate, a prorated credit or refund.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, particularly Section 3 (Acceptable use). If we terminate for cause, we are not obligated to refund fees already paid.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Mimicly disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not responsible for how you, or anyone who sees your exports, uses the images you create.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Mimicly's total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Mimicly in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) twenty US dollars. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply and are not limited by this clause.

12. Indemnity

You agree to hold Mimicly harmless from claims brought by third parties arising out of content you create with the service, including claims about defamation, impersonation, or infringement.

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If a dispute arises, we ask that you first contact us at info@mimicly.net so we can try to resolve it directly. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the courts and enforcement offices of İstanbul (Çağlayan), Türkiye. Consumers resident in the European Union retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence where local law requires it.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
