How do I record a chat video?

Choose a supported conversation template, edit the sample dialogue and run Preview to check it. Use Record to generate the MP4, then save or share the completed file using the available device options.

Can every template be recorded?

No. Recording is available for supported chat and AI conversation templates. All eight game-chat templates are image-only; social posts, stories, comments and email are not advertised as recordable.

Is this a screen recording of another app?

No. Mimicly renders the fictional conversation you authored. It does not record your screen, microphone or a real messaging account.

Can I export a screenshot instead?

Yes. Use image export when you need a single frame. A free account has three export credits shared across images and recordings; Pro is available for continued premium exports.
