Bluesky-style messages
Bluesky DM Mockup Maker
Bluesky shows the handle under the display name, often a custom domain such as @riley.design. Set both, write the conversation, and keep the light layout or switch to dark.
Updated

How to make it
- Open the Bluesky template in the web editor or the Mimicly iPhone app.
- Replace the sample names, photos and text with your own.
- Adjust times, counts and appearance until the preview looks right.
- Export a PNG or JPG, or press Record to save the conversation as an MP4 (desktop Chrome or Edge on the web, or the iPhone app).
What you can edit
- Display name, avatar and the handle line under it
- Both sides of the chat with times and photos
- Light or dark theme, voice messages and MP4 recording
Good for
- Posts and videos about moving to Bluesky
- Community-management examples
- Chats for creator skits
On your iPhone
The Mimicly app has the same templates, saves your projects and records supported chats as MP4.

Questions
Can I use a custom domain as the handle?
Yes. The handle line is plain text, so @name.bsky.social or a domain such as @riley.design both work.
Can I turn it into a video?
Yes. Press Preview to watch the messages appear one by one, then Record to save the conversation as an MP4. On the web, recording works in desktop Chrome or Edge; on a phone, use the Mimicly iPhone app. Use image export when you only need a still frame.
Is this template free?
Yes. It is part of the free collection, and anyone can open, edit and export it without an account. Exports without Pro carry a small “Made with Mimicly” watermark. Sign in for three clean exports shared across images and recordings, or choose Pro (monthly or a one-time lifetime purchase) for watermark-free exports, higher resolution and share links.
Is Mimicly connected to Bluesky?
No. Mimicly is an independent editor. It does not sign in to Bluesky, send messages or read your account. Everything in the scene is written by you; use it for fictional scenes, examples and storyboards.
